Oh I agree completely.... especially with raid mechanics. I played WoW as well.... got two characters to level 80 (Night Elf Warrior and Night Elf Priest)... and while general questing can be done without looking stuff up thanks to addons like Carbonite and/or QuestHelper, you have no choice but to look up raid encounter strategies.Tawmis wrote:It was an interesting read... to be sure.
One thing is clear - and I didn't need him to admit it to see it - he's addicted to World of Warcraft.
I found it ironic how easy he wants games to be... would rather there be no thinking or need for walk thrus or looking stuff up online...
I've played Warcraft. Got one character to level 80. Another to 70. And others between 20 and 60. If you think you don't need to look things up for WoW, then he's misguided... very, very misguided, and just blind by his addiction to the game, and thinking it has no flaws.
Other than that, fun read.
I will say that WoW is by and far the easiest MMO I have ever played (I started with the original EverQuest for many years, then went on to Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, and others that are slipping my mind - now do Lord of the Rings Online once a week {on my day off - Monday; Sunday is usually spent with the wife})... But WoW was indeed the easiest. And granted, thinks like QuestHelper certainly do help...oberonqa wrote: Oh I agree completely.... especially with raid mechanics. I have all the respect in the world for Corey, but he must not be raiding very often... or if he does, he doesn't do level/gear appropriate raid content (i.e. instead of doing Icecrown Citadel at level 80 with Ulduar/ToC epics, he does AQ20 with Naxx epics).
