Originals and remakes petition on GOG.com

After asking for the King's Quest and Space Quest remakes to be included along the original versions on Good Old Games, GOG finally added the Police Quest series to their library, this time with the Police Quest I remake, but not original.

So I started a petition on their forums asking them to add both the original version and the remake to their current KQ, SQ and PQ packs. It worked for the original version of Broken Sword last month so why couldn't it work for Sierra remakes too? Drop by and add your name at:

Signed up just to post on that petition. Great idea.

You do realize that GOG might not have a say in the matter, right?.

The PQ series currently belongs to Activision. So for GOG to add the original PQ they'd have to get permission. Maybe Activision would agree, but if they don't, GOG can't do anything about it.

Having said that, I can't think of any reason why Activision would refuse.

Bobby Koteck and his legion of lawyers rarely need a reason for being asinine <<censored>>.

Still... petitions can and do work. The Silver Lining is living proof of that. :)

Tawmis: Thanks for signing. :>

DeadPoolX: I am aware that Activision has the last word on the issue and that it's currently more advantageous for them the way it is because we have to buy the collections multiple times to get both versions, but it can't hurt to try, and GOG said multiple times that they use this list of most wanted games that used to be on their sites to convince companies to do business with them, maybe the petition will be just as useful.

Oh, I agree! It would be nice to see Activision listen to fans and it never hurts to give a petition a try. :)

I also think it's an extremely rare exception to the rule.

But it never hurts to try.

Unless you're jumping out of a plane without a parachute.

That might hurt to try.
