The game however never got released and I thought I'd never see anything about it, until now that is. I found this recently posted walkthrough of the beta on Youtube.

Wow good find!!

This has been floating around for about a year. I did alot of research into this when it first came to light and the guy who currently has the beta is VERY protective of it. Only a handful of copies even exist of this game, Blizzard had contracted it out to a company in I believe Russia then canceled the game as it was being polished.

A few of the people at the company had copies of the game they kept but do not let them see the light of day. This man that originally posted this is a good friend of one and all he would do is do a walk through of the game. I went so far as to find a Russian speaking friend to ask him about getting a copy.

Is that a challenge ?

I heard of this. It was supposed to be a direct competing title to LucasArts Curse of Monkey Island at the time. I heard it was eventually developed into a novel, though.
