Rudy asked for a banner for SHP to put up on his site. Here is a first effort. What do the SHP denizens think?

I like it very much. It's clean and informative.
I'm not sure that the text "Keeping the classics alive on modern PCs" is quite clear enough - that is my one caveat. I don't know whether black for that text would make it stand out a little more, and I don't know whether it would work with the colour scheme you have in mind... However, I like it.

I like it. Maybe, as Almirena suggested, a more dark shade of color for the subtitles, but the general graphics is very well done.

Very nice... I like it. *thumbs up*
I'm trying to imagine "Keeping the classics alive on modern PCs" in a black font... it doesn't seem to blend as well as what you have there now. *shrug* For my money, I'd prefer it as it is now. *smile*

I like it too, except for the "keeping the Classics alive on modern PCs" part. "Keeping alive" has this negative sound to it, don't you think? It's not just about keeping them alive, it's also about making them known again, introducing them to the new generation of gameplayers. How about something like "Bringing the Classics back to glory", just the first thing that came to mind... And yes, the font of the bottomline should be a bit darker to improve readability.

Either that or make the image a tad bigger

See, I'd disagree. Keeping the Classics alive means - they're alive now. And we're doing what we can to keep them alive. When you say "Bringing the classics BACK to glory" - that sounds more negative to me, because it's implying at one time they lost their glory. (And for the die hards like us, that's not the case).

It's nice. Good color sceheme too (just noticed the new forum theme). I'll put it up on my site to link back here.

@ Rudy, the slogan is more of a referral to enabling people to be able to play them on new computers, not keeping the spirit of them going.
I had tried a black font for the slogan, but it did not look right. I might try a brownish gold.
Edit: here is a quick edit:
Later, when I have time I'll see if I can play around with the font size.

#3 is also the one I'd go for.

Unquestionably, #3 looks the clearest.
