I'm surprised they think they can continue the story, considering that at the end of the second movie, they clearly achieve world peace, end global warming, go to Mars, and Death wins the Indy 500 ("I didn't know I could run that fast!") So it's weird to think that we have to ignore all that in exchange for another time travel story. I was at least hoping that Bill and Ted would explore other realms of sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal interest since they've already done time travel and the afterlife. Of course, once you have them meet God, the shark is officially jumped.

So... you're suggesting that they should "sit on it"?
(And no, I'm not talking about
sitting on God. That conjures up some strange mental images...)
Anyway. Last I remember, they achieved world peace and all that jazz by 'singing' an old song by the British band Argent, which was later covered by Kiss. What song will they 'sing' next, I wonder? Just curious.
Any speculations?
*reads the article* Hmm... wait a minute.
Keanu Reeves wrote:The actor says 'Bill & Ted 3' is likely to build on previous storylines, saying, "When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened.
I thought they already saved the world? So what's going on now?

I always thought "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" was the perfect song to end the series on and bring about world peace. Now I'm afraid that musical tastes in culture have changed so drastically that any new song will bring about the apocalypse.
Holy crap. Okay - if they do a movie where Bill and Ted must battle the apocalypse, I'm ONE HUNDRED PERCENT behind it.
