I couldn't but notice that your downloads page does not have a playable demo of The Rise & Rule of Ancient Empires. There are two versions of the demo, one for Win95 and another for Win3.x:
The Rise & Rule of Ancient Empires Demo (Win3.x) (4.8 Mb)
The Rise & Rule of Ancient Empires Demo (Win95) (5.3 Mb)

A different, and apparently older, version of the demo can be found at Demu (formerly DOS Museum):
The Rise & Rule of Ancient Empires Demo (18.2 Mb)

Glad to help! The demos of this particular game are both from pre-release builds, which makes them interesting from the historical point of view. At the same time, there are a few quirks, most noticeably, the AI scripts have some errors and the game gives a multitude of error messages for every wrong line in the script whenever you start a game with AI players.

I just want to point out how cool I think that was - both of your posts (and the only two up to your most previous one) - were about the demos that were not on SHP but elsewhere and up for grabs. The fact that your first two posts were about that, is totally awesome that you took the time to let Collector know!

Well, glad to be of help :) I was initially motivated to post because I stumbled upon the LotR1 demo at FilePlanet - it seems pretty rare, and as I said, I didn't know it existed in the first place. So I thought I drop by and tell you about that one :) The Siege Pack demo also appears to be not very well known (actually, for some time I used be under a false impression that it was customary among developers not to produce any separate demos for add-ons and expansion packs at all, so any demo of an add-on I come across still feels like a rare, valuable find to me ).

As for the R&R demos, I've been aware of them for some time already. The game is nice, but the 100-turn limitation in the demo seems a bit short.

BTW, that site where the smaller R&R demos are also has demo versions of LotR2 and Birthright: The Gorgon's Alliance (among other things) that are different in size from what you have here:
http://ftp.icm.edu.pl/pub/coast/games/s ... rddemo.exe (7.2 Mb)
http://ftp.icm.edu.pl/pub/coast/games/s ... dldemo.exe (10 Mb)

Not sure if the actual content's different, as I haven't checked them out yet :)

Is there any other version of this game? I don't have these two. If yes, then please provide me.
