Well, could have been a false positive after all.

In other news, regarding Seven Kingdoms, I've just noticed the (more-or-less recent) news at the 7kfans website that the team has been able to negotiate the issue around the soundtrack for the game which, until recently, was not available for free distribution:
Thanks to Bjorn Lynne’s generous offer, we worked out the details, and now have the music freely available for use with the game again. I hope all of you can support him in his latest work where possible.

And those who have asked in the past, and got turned down, thank you for your patience. We really wanted to work this out properly, that is why we always had tough responses.

Please note that the music is NOT GPL or public domain. The music may not be modified or re-recorded. It can only be used as intended with the game.

Here you may download the music, that can then be applied to your GPL version of the game. In the future, we will offer complete downloadable packages. Note that some linux distributions might choose not to include the music, so you may still get the music here if that is the case.

Download 7KAA Music (.zip) (.bz2)

I of the Enemy: Ril'Cerat is a free stand-alone prequel campaign to I of the Enemy, an oldschool science-fiction real-time strategy game.
Download I of the Enemy: Ril'Cerat from Brothersoft Games
Download I of the Enemy: Ril'Cerat from FileForum

The manual for the game in Microsoft Word format can be downloaded from the official downloads page (Wayback Machine archived copy).

Special Agent - a classic platform game inspired by Apogee's Secret Agent. Thanks to Scpm of 3D Realms Forums for mentioning this one! ^_^

Knights of War - a trun-based strategy in a medieval setting that follows the footsteps of Heroes of Might and Magic series. There are no fantasy elements in this game though.

Pyrrhic Tales: Prelude to Darkness - a party-based 3D CRPG that was originally released in 2001 and had been made free to play for the general public since by the developers.

ShadowFlare: Episode One - a 2002 Western-type Action/RPG in the vein of Diablo series, however it had been developed by a Japanese company. Initially, all four episodes were sold, with only a demo of the game being available for free, but in 2003 the first episode was made free to download for the official website as a shareware episode.

Cool, nice you like 'em! ^_^ Here's a few more:
ftp://ftp.farlep.net/pub/clubix/demo/
ftp://ftp.farlep.net/pub/clubix/demo2/
ftp://ftp.farlep.net/pub/clubix/demo3/

Found 'em using the Mamont FTP Indexer (I used FileWatcher.com for some time, but goes down all too frequently).

Uh, forgot to mention that the links above will only work if you copy-paste them in your browser manually. That site seems to have been poorly maintained lately, but it's worth a visit.
they only worked for me with IE.

I can confirm the links work when manually copy-pasted under Google Chrome.
You like manuals. You like manuals. You love them. You cannot resist manuals.
Your gameplay experience is meaningless without manuals.

I'm certain I didn't post about the IE part (I don't use IE at all), someone of you guys with moderation rights must have edited my post by mistake instead of replying to it.

Here's another nice FTP with game demos and extras:

I think I haven't mentioned yet that Hallfiry at the BetaArchive Forums is sharing his huge PC Games coverdisk collection:
http://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewto ... 14&t=24418

He's in the process of uploading the CDs, and the master list file is here (requires a tool called Where is it? lite to view).

Hallfiry also started a website dedicated to gaming magazine cover disks:
http://kultcds.com/

Of course, only legal content is provided (no cover CDs from issues that included full versions of games, as used to be the practice with some magazines).
