He's a pirate! And who doesn't love a good - or bad - pirate?

But seriously - I have always loved pirates. Perhaps the rest of the world doesn't share my obsession - but with the recent (well, somewhat recent) success of Disney's "Pirates of the Carribean" - and if we recall Roberta William's fine touch to "touch up other stories" - I think a pirate character would provide a great chance to have a "Jack Sparrow" kind of fun within King's Quest IX.

And on the basic concept of my character - he could even provide King Graham with a fun quest. "In order to sail on my ship to the land ye desire, me matey - ye will be needin' to get my eye patch back from Old Man McKaine." And have Graham say, "But both of your eyes are fine!" And have my character reply something like, "Well, what kind of pirate would I be matey, if I wasn't wearin' an eye patch?" So then King Graham now has to do something for Old Man McKaine (obviously a name I just made up), in order to get the eye patch, in order to sail on Tawmis' ship that might take him where he needs to go.

Just a wild idea. :) And plenty more in my head if you ever wanted to pick my brain for some!

> > Why do you think you should win?

All kidding aside - one reason I think it would be excellent for my character to be selected (among the very tough competition I am facing) is my desire to win - and not to win "just because" - but because I love Sierra games. And I don't mean just love them - it was a dream to work for Sierra back in the days of King's Quest IV and Space Quest III.

So I definitely have a passion for Sierra. And with Sierra in it's current condition - King's Quest IX, though fan made is closer to the classic Sierra games, then say the newest version of Leisure Suit Larry, which is an insult to Larry (hard to believe something can insult ol' Larry Laffer), but a slap in the face to all the Sierra fans who were "demanding a new LSL game!"

So that being said, I'd go through great lengths to provide any additional help, information, voices, etc with King's Quest IX in relation to my character - or the game concept/creation itself.

Found my submission of character...

Your form has been submitted. Thank you for participating in the contest.

First Name: Tawmis
Last Name: Logue
E-mail: ************
Location: San Diego, CA

Character Profile

Full Name: Tawmis
Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Daventry Seas
Species: Human

Eye Colour: Brown
Hair Colour: Brown
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 210 lbs

Likes: Tawmis is a sailor by nature! Though he sails and commands a regular ship, he constantly dresses in Pirate attire and always says, \"Arrr\" and \"Ye\" in every conversation. (Sometimes, rather excessively, as in, \"Arr, ye be headin to the west seas, arr!\")

Dislikes: His only dislike is being reminded that he\'s not actually a pirate. (Or if someone corrects him during his pirate lingo).

Top 3 Qualities:
1. Honest
2. Funny
3. Dreamer

What character does to survive: Tawmis insists on sailing. He loves sailing. His time on the land is limited. And of course, remaining in Pirate character is a must. (Because he knows nothing else!)

Why character must do this: Tawmis loved the Pirate stories he always heard. Loved the idea of sailing the seas, discovering land, burying treasure (though due to bad map skills, Tawmis never finds any of the treasure he buried to begin with!)

Character background/history: Tawmis grew up on a ship. His father was a sailor, and he never knew his mother. His father always told him about tales of the days when pirates sailed the waters. So naturally, Tawmis became fascinated with Pirates, but never got to meet any, since it seemed they day had come and gone. So now Tawmis remains in Pirate character, just in case there are any kids that want to meet or see pirates, he lives like one to fulfill their dream.
