An article entitled
"6 Reasons The Guy Who's Fixing Your Computer Hates You" was posted today on Cracked.com and I sat there nodding the entire time.
I know some people here have fixed computers before (professionally or otherwise) and I bet you, like me, have come across this madness before as well.

Started LMAO when I saw the browser with 70% of the real-estate given up to toolbars... too true.

GAH. No kidding. I don't even fix computers for a living, but I've helped people out on occasion and it drives me nuts how little they know (and they don't see anything wrong with that).
You can't use a car without learning how to drive, so why should they expect to use a computer without learning anything about it? In some cases, I think a more visual "user-friendly" interface is a detriment, since it allows anyone to use computers.
People should have to have a license to use computers, so that they at least have some basic knowledge of how they work. I hate it when people are like "Hee hee. I'm not a computer person" as they blindly click on things without looking. Really? Don't you think those little popup messages are there for a reason and maybe you shouldn't ignore them?
Silly me...I shouldn't expect people to stop and think about computers when they can't even stop and think for themselves about simpler things.
The thing that drives me most crazy is that, even though they admit that they're not "computer people" and acknowledge that you know more about computers, they won't believe anything you tell them about their computer.

I know lots of people like that. What's said is I even know computer people like that. They used to be the ones that were the computer people, and now that they're older, they just don't give a crap or something.
I'd like to find out what it takes to become a computer repair person and what sort of knowledge it requires. I'm way better than the average person, but when I go to virus forums and see the solutions on them, I wonder how anyone could even come up with that stuff.
