Maia and I went to install GK1 on my laptop (Win 7 Pro 64-bit) using the installer on the website and while that worked, the configuration wizard keeps crashing. This first happened right after we clicked "next" on the first window of the configuration wizard.

That is very odd. Where did you install the game? Is UAC on? AV software?

It was actually a conflict with Online Armor, a software firewall I installed on my laptop for extra protection when I have to connect to unsecured networks. I usually turn it off when I'm at home and connected to our network, which is very secure.

What's odd is that my AV program didn't interfere with it at all.

Anyway... the configuration wizard now works. We bypassed it before and simply edited the dosbox.conf file itself, since it's basically the same thing.

It is curious that the firewall kicked in when the conf tool does not try to communicate with anything. All the tool does is write the conf file according to the user's choices. What is even more strange is that it interfered with the conf tool but not the installer, since the installer does pull the latest DOSBox version information from the internet and has the ability to download DOSBox.
