Am i the only one that doesn't find it all that memorable? The music is wonderful(still love the instrumental version) but the lyrics are kinda generic,i don't know why everyone praises it like it's a bless from heaven.

I think because - in terms of games back then - it sounds very much like something that would have come off a Disney soundtrack.

Back then it must have been truly amazing to have a song of this level in a game. Today, I agree that the lyrics are rather bland and a tad uninspired.

Mark Seibert's intent was to create a top 20 type song based on themes from KQ5. In this, he was successful. The song did get some air time.

This track was added to some of the releases as an audio CD. A Sierra campaign to have fans promote this song to local radio stations, in order to make it hit the charts, fell in the water. Radio stations nearly sued Sierra for having to pick up phone calls from fans, shoving the song down the stations' throats  . Sierra then gave up on it.

I don't remember this part:

In Space Quest VI, when Roger gives a "morphin"-spiked donut to one of the shuttlebay security guards, the guard transforms into several strange characters including Michigan J Frog and Roberta Williams playing Girl in the Tower on piano.

EDIT: OK i guess you didn't want to.It's Mask of Eternity. This is basically how i feel about turning KQ8 into a mediocre action game:

I don't know. You seem to have had some problems with KQVI, but I don't think that's the one. Is it another KQ game?

Ah! But then you're in a very good company on these boards. I think that maybe Rudy likes Mask of Eternity a bit, but the vast majority of us are with you. It was just a terrible game, one that I refuse to even identify as a King's Quest ;)

It's just that i don't understand why KQ7 being easy and cartoony is enough to get hate from many KQ veterans when 8 is the one that should get the hate.I'm a KQ veteran and love all 7 games. But now we're getting off topic i'll just create a thread for this. I'll continue talking there.

Trust me, we veer off topic ALL the time. It's a norm around here. As long as the topic evolves (our way of saying going off topic) and remains civil, it's all good.
