I want to play KQ7 (German!) on xp. I have Version 1.51, so i can't play it with DOSBox (or is there a way?). When I change sierraws.exe with sierraw.exe it works, but there is no fullscreen and no music! (In every other game I have music) I hope somebody can help me!

If compatibility mode does not change your resolution to 640x480, you can manually do so before you start the game. As far as no music, can you play MIDIs? Don't forget, the fire cracker speed bug may be impassable, depending on the speed of your PC.

Ok, I changed the resolution to 640x480, and I have fulscreen! The firecracker speed bug is no problem on my computer. I can hear every midi (also the miditest on the KQ7 CD), but not the music of KQ 7!

If you have Windows 3.x floppys you can always install it in DOSBox and run it from there.That's what i do with mid 90s pc games.

Your best bet is to just use Collector's installer to update your version to ver. 2.00

I am not sure what to tell you about the MIDI. I cannot imagine what might be different about your German localized version. Post the contents of your RESOURCE.WIN

I don't really see anything wrong with it. Try copying the rest of the CD to the installed folder and change the last part of the above to:

Code: Select all

resAud=.\
resSfx=.\
patchDir=.\
movieDir=.\AVI
audio=.\
