New Larry In HD?

Found this:
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards returns in HD for the series' 25th anniversary in Q4 2012. This will be the second update of the bawdy 1987 Sierra adventure game classic, which went from 16-color EGA art and a keyboard interface to stunning VGA graphics and mouse controls in 1991.
EGM reports the update will be handled by Replay Games, with the assistance and blessing of series creator Al Lowe -- something that the most recent entries in the series didn't have. The game is planned for almost every PC, console and mobile digital distribution platform.
"I'm overjoyed to see Larry released from his digital dungeon after all this time, and be placed in the hands of someone who understands him and wants to see him, brought back to the forefront by people who love him and understand him," Lowe told EGM.
If successful, Replay Games plans to keep on doing the HD updates, and doing them well, working its way through the series' original seven installments (Leisure Suite Larry 4: The Missing Floppies will remain missing). Replay is also planning on new adventures for Larry Laffer in the internet age.

Replay Games and Al Lowe are teaming up to re-release Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards with updated high definition graphics. They're working on porting it to a number of platforms like iOS, Android, Windows, Macs, XBLA, PSN ,etc.

Wow... that is... a very bloody take on the cab death.
Was Larry ever that gory, or are they confusing this for Space Quest?
EDIT: Also, how long has that quote been under my avatar?

I quite like the feeling of the screenshot. I hope they do a good job on the remake.

I don't think Larry was ever this gory. The worst that could happen can be seen
here (starting roughly at 2:32).

me if I'm wrong (and if you don't, I'm sure Tawm will if I'm wrong)... but I can't believe no-one's said anything about this, so I will.
This article lists
these two screenshots, and calls them the "1991 remake of Larry".
Now, it's been a loooooooooooooooooong time since I last played Larry - I first played his adventures in 1991, starting at the very start with LSL1 EGA - buuuuuuuuuuuuuut I'm still pretty sure that's the original EGA Larry, not the VGA remake!

If you have a redirect set to here, you can easily monitor Larry forum traffic. If it increases to any significant degree you can open it again to accommodate it.

That looks awesome
It looks like they're going to emulate the hand drawn visuals of Larry 7 which is awesome since it's my favorite Larry game.Can't wait for this

Just thought of something: They'll probably add voice acting to the game.In that case they need to get Jan Rabson to play Larry again. To me he is the voice of Larry

Sadly, EGM has confirmed that the content for game four, Leisure Suite Larry 4: The Missing Floppies remains missing. However, Lowe won’t let that keep him from re-mastering it to Leisure Suite Larry 4: The Missing Digital Download HD.
