When I try to sign in, it says "TIM 3 has been installed in a write-protected area. You cannot sign in." Apparently in newer Windows it won't allow you to disable read-only on folders (which I'm guessing would stop this message from popping up). Is there any work around that can allow me to sign in and save my progress?

I actually ended up uninstalling your installer's installation and instead installed from the cd, but either way it says the same thing. The only time that it will let me sign in and save is when it's installed via the cd installer and into the location c:\SIERRA\TIMWIN. But when I move SIERRA\TIMWIN into my games folder, the message comes up (I'm guessing because my games folder is read-only?). In fact if I try to install the game under my games folder during the cd installation process, it says it can't install there because is write-protected, which is why I had to install under c: and then move it under my games folder afterwards. I'm guessing the SIERRA\TIMWIN is safe to write to because its installed via the cd installer and therefore doesn't carry the read-only attribute that the newer Windows place on all its folders.. Not sure. There always seems to be some odd work around for these type of things but I'm out of ideas..

I wrote an installer for it because the original is a 16-bit executable, which means that it will not work on x64. It offers few fixes over the original, but does include the diagnostic tool. The game has entries in the Sierra.ini file, so moving it can break it. There are also some registry entries, but these are non critical. My installer would allow you to install it elsewhere. I am not sure if UAC is a factor in this, but I would suspect not, since it is not a system folder. The file that it is trying to write is a *.SAV file.
