Your mouth tastes like the inside of a motorman's glove

I'm currently playing LSL1 & this phrase appears when you need a hit of breathspray. At first I was taken aback thinking "Hey, I swear that is right out of Infocom's Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". As it turns out, I was remembering incorrectly - and in fact I remembered it from playing LSL1 years upon years ago.

However, still quite an interesting phrase I went ahead and googled it. I came up with a reference to Raymond Chandler's "The Big Sleep", and appears as "I woke up with a motorman's glove in my mouth." - in effect to wake up with a hangover, experiencing dehydration and a very dry mouth.

I really appreciate Al Lowe's occasionally subtle humor

The Big Sleep does have a bit of a tongue in cheek aspect to it. The Bogart portrayal is a hoot. Exactly the kind of thing that would appeal to Al Lowe.
