Quest for Glory IV sound issue

Hey, I'm hoping someone can help me with this one, as it leaves me a bit puzzled...

I have the Quest for Glory Anthology, have for many, many years. I used the new DOSBox installer here to set it all up, and on my personal computers (both windows 7) it all works just fine. On my girlfriend's Vista laptop, however, the voice track on QfG IV does not play, and instead, the text narration just speeds on passed too fast for her to read (I've kind of got the game memorized, so it isn't really a problem for me, but she never had 4 before...)

Any ideas? So far, I'ved re-run the install file through DOSBox and tried different options to no avail, and re-run the anthology installer to try and fix it as well. Frankly, I'm at a loss at this point...

You are missing the RESOURCE.AUD file, which contains the speech. Timing of certain events is based on the soundtrack. That is why the text is too fast. Perhaps her CD drive is having trouble reading the disc. If the installer has trouble copying any files, it will eventually skip the file. You can try manually copying the file. If that fails, since your PC was able to read it, copy the file from your machine to hers with a thumb drive.

That did it! Good lord, I can't believe I didn't think to check that before... Thanks so much!

I look forward to her finally getting my 'Ya, Avoozl, your blood is like fire' jokes for once.

Again, thank you so much!
