Lighthouse Installer

Hi all,

I tried the Lighthouse installer, and it seems to be great. Just one thing, I prefer to run the old games in a window instead of full screen, is there any chance to change this? It didn't work to put "maximized=false" into the resource.win

If I run the game with the regular installation from my CD, I get hopelessly stuck in the temple, trying to adjust the dials (with the circle and the lines) because it's way too fast, and the lines end up on top, bottom, left and right of the monitor. I guess this will not happen with the new installer, but as I said.... windowed mode, please????

Thanks!!!
Marlene

If you are talking about the DOSBox installer from here, just use the configuration utility in the game's folder. If you are talking about the installer from Squirt the Cat, then it can only be run full screen.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I referred to the Windows installer. Hmmm.... too bad. Guess I will have to try the DOS version, hoping that I get around the horrible safe puzzle as well as I did in my original Windows installation. Maybe someone knows a trick for that one? :-)

Well, try it through the DOS installer ... and see if the puzzle gives you any issues. (I have installed Lighthouse w/Collector's installer and I don't recall any issues - I never finished the game w/the installer... but I don't remember anything giving me problems).

I did, although I never liked the DOS version - there's no highlighted cursor as in the patched Windows game. And this is very useful for some of the puzzles, escpecially in the volcano. But maybe I'll manage to finish the game without it, at least in a test run. No idea if this will ever make it a Let's Play :-)

The highlighted cursor is from a patch, which works for both the Windows version and the DOS.

I would, but most of them are in German, so I doubt that many folks would understand what's going on :-)
I did LSL1-3 + 5 with friends, whereas 2+3 can be found on my channel.
All King's Quests 1-7, and there's even a version of KQ7 in English... my very first Let's Play (bad sound, poor video quality, LOL)
Torin's Passage in German on a channel which I run with a friend.
Some Coktel stuff in English: Ween The Prophecy, Lost in Time and Fascination. Oh yes, and "Let's NOT play The Legend of Djel" :-)
There might be more, but I guess I will have to search in the depth of my channels :-)
Right now, I am recording Shivers 1, but also in German.

Let me know if I should still post the links to the playlists :-)
