Error 52 again; can't leave the swamp!

So tried for a million times to work the DOS version with DOSBox with no success. Eventually I killed the Chernovy with magic spells and got the ritual.

However I cannot exit the screen! Whenever I do, I get the error again.

Any ideas? Or should I just stick to my Anthology CD?

done... had to use my CD version. The only problem is that stamina doesnt regenerate as quickly anymore while in battle.

Hey, sorry to open up this thread again, but since it hasn't been that long, I hope you guys don't mind helping me out.

I'm stuck in the same place and can't seem to get out. I've tried CPUKiller...doesn't work. I've tried the install files you recommended and for some reason it won't install even though I've put it in the same folder as my game, but that's probably because I've had to use DOSBox. In any case, would it be possible to send someone my save so they can get the scroll for me from the tomb and then send it back to me once they've exited the swamp successfully?

I've tried everything and nothing works.

Never use a slow down utility with DOSBox. All you are doing is making it harder for DOSBox to run without affecting the speed of the game. Just use the new installer from here and and do a clean install. it will properly setup the game. Remember, since old save games can carry any pre patched bugs over into a properly patched game, it is best to start the game over.
