This has been making the rounds on various boards for the past week or two, but nothing too concrete, yet.

I am sure they have keep an eye on LSL, SpaceVenture and Pinkerton Road (among others) to see how they do - before they invest in it, and go about coming up with a concept (in case of Quest for Glory being out of their reach).

QfG might be the one Quest series that a continuation would not be the best thing, The series has completed its cycle. A new hero is called for, so it does not need be a direct descendant of the original series. A new series of the same spirit will do.

QFG would be neat if it was redone with modern graphics, but not if the series was continued (i.e. QFG6). The hero's story is done if you chose the throne at the end of QFG5, and even if you turned it down, the romance options in that game would make a sixth title tricky (unless they're planning on ignoring it entirely).
EDIT: Looks like Collector pretty much said the same thing I did.

Well look at King's Quest 2. Why did Graham wander off to quest? Not exactly a Kingly thing to do! A hero on the throne may become bored of the legalities of being a king; and seek to adventure once more!
I don't think it will be a QFG game, to be honest. I have a feeling, since it's two of them (married), they might go the Jane Jensen way and announce a new game and a new studio (Cole Productions, or something).

Doubt it will be a QfG. The IP is still in the hands of Activision and they've been watching the other Kickstarters like a hawk. With the success of those, their already over-the-top price tag just got a bit higher.

Yeah but with no buyers, we shall see how long that lasts.
I know that some folks retained their rights... Manhunter (I believe did), GoldRush! (also did I believe)?
