GK1 closes on startup

Wanted to pley this Sins of the farthers with my bf. It installs just fine, but when we try to run the game, it opens DOSBox, runs a couple of seconds and prints some message (it's too quick for me to read what it says) and then closes again. No error meassage or anything, it just closes.

OH, and it¨s the cd version from the big colectors box that contained the first 2 games and the nove of the second.

Edit: I managed to pause DOSBox, so I could read the message. it says:

999.pal usually means something's missing from the install (Collector can and probably will correct me) - but I believe it's not finding a specific palette or something...

Tawm is right. It means that the game cannot a resource it needs. The most obvious thing is that I see is that you are missing the main resource file (RESOURCE.000) and RESOURCE.ALT. Your computer was probably having trouble reading the CD during the install. When the computer can't copy a file the installer will eventually skip the file and continue. Check the CD to be sure that it is not dirty, damaged scuffed, etc. You can try manually copying those two files from the CD to the game's directory.

I could kiss the both of you, Thank you SO much, that was exactly what was wrong. Copied the files and now it seems to be working. It's late here and I have University all day tomorow, so I'll most likely not be able to test the rest of the game before friday, but luckily there'l be no further problems .
