Installing GK2 on my laptop fails because of 32/64 bit issue

Please help me. Had I have known about GOG or whatever it is, I'd have gone that route instead, but I bought The Beast Within off Amazon thinking I could get it to work, and unfortunately, my efforts are fruitless. It is giving me the error message of the 32 bit cannot play on 64 bit. I've tried changing compatibility to Windows 95, and it didn't work. Still got the 32/64 error. I've seen all these downloadable things, DOSBox, Ubuntu (Sp?), using a usb bootup, partitioning my harddrive.... etc. I just wanna play my game. Can you tell me how the best way to go about loading this game onto my HP Windows 7 laptop is? Please? Puhlease?!
