Police Quest 3 CDROM?
Re: Police Quest 3 CDROM?
I have never heard of it nor does Moby list it. There may have been a re-release on CD-ROM like LSL5, but there was no differences between the floppy or CD-ROM versions. There might have been a planned multimedia release that got shelved a la SQ5.

Re: Police Quest 3 CDROM?
The required budget was deemed too high at the time, so it was shelved. I can't say how much the fact that SQ5 was developed at Dynamix might have had to do with it.

Sonny Bonds is one Sierra legend who never had a voice counterpart. Whom would he sound like, do you think? I think a great fit would be Larry Wilcox (Officer Jon Baker, from "CHiPs"), but mainly because their characters were pretty similar in personality.

In Sierra's Interactive Magazine from Summer 1991 http://www.sierragamers.com/uploads/240 ... r_1991.pdf
is an Interview with Jim Walls. Next to it is some information on page 13 about the production, which contains the following snippet:
So apparently they indeed once planed to do a Multimedia Version of PQ3, but obviously these plans were shelved at one point in time.

I wouldn't have been the first. The Conquests of the Longbow and SQ5 are probably the ones I regret the most that no MPC version ever done.

You can hear fake Sonny Bonds' voice in SWAT 4. I don't know if he's supposed to be the same character or just an easter egg. He sounds nothing like how I'd imagine, though.

Funny that you mention that. I just installed this last nite from CD, I would assume it'd be the same character since he says Sonny Bonds. What's even funnier is you can create those custom missions, and Sonny Bonds is in the civilian list.Maxor127 wrote:You can hear fake Sonny Bonds' voice in SWAT 4. Sonny appears in SWAT2 as well, did they give any of the PC units generic phrases?

Really there is nothing wrong with Sonny being in SWAT 4, but they really chose the wrong voice for him. California guy with a New York accent?
