Problem Hearing the Narrator (CD Version)

Post by Luinath »

Hello,

In the CD version of the game, when I look at the bottles filled with water, I can barely hear what the narrator says about it, unless I turn off the music, and increase the volume of my computer to max.

Is there a way to fix this problem? I own the Sierra Original version if that has anything to do with the problem.

Unzip this into the game's folder to see if it helps. Please let me know if it works for you. If so, I'll add it to the installer.

I'm able to properly hear what the narrator says about the bottles of water.

Thank you for the help Collector.

Edit:

I just noticed that when you look at the sacks of baking soda, it doesn't seem to be as loud as the other lines in the game, but you could still understand what the narrator was saying compared to the last problem.

The narration is a bit uneven. These two were recorded at a lower volume level than the majority. I have extracted the two resources to boost the volume. It takes more time to track down the resource than it does to fix it. Let me know if you find any other spots.

Thank you again for the fix Collector.

I'm not sure if this a volume problem, or if it's done on purpose, but when Willy is talking after you solve the town's third problem, it's difficult to understand a few words near the end of his line, but the rest can be heard.

I can upload a save file before Willy's narration on solving the town's third problem occurs, if it's a problem.

Go ahead, but if it is not quite the same thing, I might not be able to do much about it.

Just making sure that it wasn't a problem.

If I find something else that is a problem in the game, I'll let you know.

Sorry to keep bothering you with this, but I just noticed that when you look at the key to the safe deposit box, the narrator doesn't sound as load as the other lines, just like the sacks of baking soda.

I just noticed that when you try to look, touch, or talk to yourself, the narrator doesn't sound as load as his other lines, but you can still understand what he is saying. The same occurs when you look at Zircon Jim Laffer.

The narrator doesn't sound as load as well when you walk out of the saloon either from the front, or from the back to the second floor to see some guys shooting wildly (the first line only if you get there from the back).

The music is supposed to be a bit lower whenever there is talking, but if there is two or more lines spoken by the same character in a row (ex. trying to shoot Sam Andreas or talking to Zircon Jim Laffer), the music plays at normal volume instead, then the music goes back to being lower when a different character talks. This seems to occur throughout the game.

These do not seem bad enough to warrant the bother. Let me know if there is something that is either not understandable or is extremely out of kilter.

Just finished the game, and noticed there was a few more lines after that that were a bit low, but not problematic enough to report. Thank you for checking the files in case they needed to be fixed.

Not an issue, but I noticed at Akril that there was a head portrait of Freddy with his other ear shot off that would have made sense to use near the end of the game. Is it possible to restore that into the game?
