Collection Installer

Post by AndreaDraco »

I re-installed the collection, used the installer on SHP and everything works perfectly, except for King's Quest 7, which - upon clicking on the icon - prompts me with nothing more than the DOSBox default screen. I noticed that the DOSBox Config file for KQ7 doesn't have anything under the [autoexec] string, whilst the other games have the proper commands. I tried to add under [autoexec]:
[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
mount c "C:\Programmi\Sierra\King's Quest Collection(TM)\KQ7\"
c:
cd \
KQ7.BAT
exit
But when I click on KQ7 icon in the Start Menu DOSBox says me:
mount c "C:\Programmi\Sierra\King's Quest Collection(TM)\KQ7\"
c:
cd \
KQ7.BAT
Illegal command: sierra
Am I doing something wrong?

Look in the KQ7 folder and see if there is SIERRA.EXE. If not, the updater did not complete, which can take a while. If it actually completed and the folder is mostly empty, type %TEMP% in the Start Search box and look in the folders in the temp folder for the game (with SIERRA.EXE) to see if the game simply did not get moved and move it to the right folder.

There's no SIERRA.EXE, so I think that the installer didn't complete...

Many thanks Collector!

Try it from scratch. Be sure let the updater complete. if the game is still not there, check the temp folder again.
