The fact that I finally just got to Day 3 and am about to finish the game when it just...crashes, it's like someone really is laughing at me.

Seriously, the game decides to cop out where Gabriel brings Buchelli, Madeline, and Mosely with Grace to the dining room. I can get to Mosely as the first subject matter, but after that, the game stops and an error window pops up.

It's one of those dreaded (I believe) 404 errors. It wasn't memory or anything I believe, just an error....technical?, that must have stopped the game itself. I keep trying to get back there, but nothing is working. I even used the white toothpaste idea to clean the cd of it's very numerous scratches (they aren't too deep, but they were mostly around the whole of it). Doing so helped the game...and when I started to play that scene again, it looked FAR better than usual. But it still stopped at the same point. It's been doing that for a while now.

So now I REALLY ask: Do I get a patch? Or is there a better solution?
I have the codec for the game, and that's why I've gotten so far. But this error never used to appear...so I wonder why it's happening.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciate. I'm P'oed enough as it is. XD

Try copying all of the .brn files from disc 2 into the data folder in the installed folder on your harddrive.

Well, I actually played it in its Software mode, and it got past that scene finally. So the problem was avoidable finally. But thank you anyway.
