Construction in progress of the first ever virtual Sierra game collection. Months of work slowly coming to fruition. No, this is not Photoshopped - it is automatically compiled through programming code, taking its data from a database that specifies which exact game releases somebody has in his collection and displays them as such. The storage and its content are 100% modifiable so that it looks exactly like the collection in your own home. Zooming feature still to be programmed - you'll be able to zoom in to the point where you can see the little cracks in the box spines.
Did a bit of testing with regular keep cases in this image - big boxes of the classics coming up shortly. A few days more until the Alpha of the Virtual Collection is completed.

Argh! That be a fine way to show yer collection. Will ye be going through a list of options and picking the ones you own, creating a database files, or entering them by SERIAL Number?

There are 3 steps:
1) Mark the games you own (you can select to the smallest detail such as version, country of release, budget releases etc...)
2) create a storage (define the number of shelves, width, height, material, etc...) so that it looks like your own storage
3) assign your boxes to the shelves and put them in order on each shelf.

Wonderful! :) It's a little bit small so I can't make out individual titles - all I can make out is Larry, Freddy Pharkas, Pharaoh, and Lords of the Realm (I think?), but it's looking very good so far.

Sorry for digressing, but I have a similarly huge collection of books. Almost no space on my two bookshelves for any new books. ;)

Folks,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce the first ever Virtual Game Collection! Ever wanted to store, update and display your game collection online, not just as a listing, but VISUALLY DISPLAYED as if you're looking at your own physical collection at home? Ever wanted to find out how it would look like to finally see all those boxes you always wanted, nicely lined up next to each other? The Sierra Chest's Virtual Collection does exactly that!

This Alpha release of the Virtual Collection has the following features:
- anybody can create and manage their own Virtual Collection.
- supports very specific releases: by platform, by version, and even obscure budget releases - anything goes!
- design your own storage - define the number of shelves, the size of the shelves, the material, and more.
- arrange the games on the shelves any way you like.
- see the collection as a whole or zoom in to the point where you can see the smallest details of the box spines! (use the drop-down box to alter views)
- click on any box to have direct access to the game page

I tested it with my own collection. Have a look :)

For now the data is still typed directly into the Sierra Chest database so, if you like, shoot me an email and I'll set it up for you. With the release of Sierra Chest 2, you'll be controlling your collection entirely by yourself with a user-friendly interface and a few mouse clicks!

Enjoy! :)
