A quick question for all you noble space janitors out there, when you replay the SQ games on your modern PCs, which speed settings on DOSBox do you tend to use. I was looking for a nice balance between running optimally but not messing up the timing of the opening sequences and what not. I still havent convinced myself which would be ideal yet, I was thinking something like 2000-3000 might be the magic number. And also is there a way to get the SQ games to open with the same settings? I have noticed they seem to use their own DOSBox settings and pay no heed to the DOSBox configuration settings in its root folder.

10000 Is usually slow enough to not trigger timer bugs, but a few need no more than about 7000-8000. BTW, the installers include patches for the timer bugs and optimally configures the games.
