New hidden (?) KQ6 discovery

I should really get back in the habit of posting my Sierra's Resource Files findings here...

Anyway, I was digging through KQ6's files, and I discovered this...interesting animation of Beauty's stepmother:

Image

I think the only reason this animation eluded me is because I assumed that this was just a ho-hum animation of the stepmother either opening/closing the door or talking, so whenever I saw that first frame, I never bothered playing it. If this animation is part of an Easter Egg, it either must be so elusive that nobody has been able to trigger it or not implemented into the game at all.

Nice!

I just started a blog on Tumblr about these hidden resource files after digging through the script of Broken Sword 2.

And while you're at it, have a look at this thread, found some cool stuff in the German release of KQ7 like an early version of King Graham

So....
I decompiled the game's scripts using the new (and awesome) SCI Companion.
The view (257) is only referenced from the CD version of the game (although the resource appears in the floppy version as well).
I'll try to see if I can understand what triggers it.

Nice find Akril!

OK,
with the help from the guys at sciprogramming.com (see the thread here: http://sciprogramming.com/community/ind ... topic=1475) I managed to trigger the easter egg:
:D

Wow. That Easter Egg is almost as hidden as the Discworld ones! Nice work, OmerMor! (Now to edit that animation's entry on its SRF page...)

(Darn...I wanted to add some stuff to my last post, but I can't find the edit button. The quote button is missing as well. Am I just using a buggy theme for these forums? [EDIT: Apparently I was. The prosilver theme has issues.])

Great finds! I've never seen those crude sketches before (they look like placeholder art to me).

Thanks. I really haven't done too much resource digging over the last couple of years, and I found this animation pretty much by accident.
