LSL7 DOSBox Installer Issues

I finally decided after some time to finally install my CD Rom DOS version of LSL7 on my Windows 8.1 PC. I used the DOSBox installer on the site and had no issues with the installation. But when I run the game, I get the a bunch of missing audio file error messages. Has anybody used any of the DOSBox Installers from the site on Windows 8 or 10. I have the GOG version of LSL7, but that one uses the Windows version and I prefer the DOS version.

There is no problem with the installers on Win8-10. The GOG version has a different layout than the official release. It is also missing the folder with all of the DOS files. If you tried to reconstruct the CD using the GOG release the installer will not work as it will not find all of the files it needs.

I am not reconstructing any files from the CD and gog version. I have both versions installed separately. I know the CD is good since the DOSBox installer worked on an older Windows xp and 7 PCs. What could be the reason for the missing audio files?

Run the diagnostic and attach the log file.

You are missing the RESOURCE.SFX file, which would explain the error messages. Everything else seems to be present. This is a large file and the installer may have had a problem copying it to your hard drive. Check your CD for smudges, scratches or anything else that may make it hard to copy files. If you can, try manually copying the file to the installed folder. If you cannot copy it you should be able to use the one from your GOG copy.
