BBP vs MoE

Just fired up the installer to play Mask Of Eternity - the computer keeps switching between screen resolutions until it finds something, plays most of the intro and then it switches resolution again, until the menu page finally loads: the "this is not the optimal resolution" dialogue box pops open, I clicked it away and then I had to go Ctrl Alt Del to exit.

Just fired it up to play - it's very choppy.

... Is that the game or the interface?

It is probably mostly because of the integrated Intel graphics. I assume this is a laptop. Go into the graphics settings and turn off dynamic lighting. If that is not enough, try DirectDraw instead of 3Dfx.

Thanks, it's playable now! Haven't mastered the controls yet though. And I'm good with tank controls.

Save your fingers and utilize the custom key assignments under options, you'll be amazed how much easier it is to play just by switching from the arrow keys to WASD.

Personally I play with:

Forward - W
Back - S
Right - D
Left - A
Walk/Run - R
Jump - Space Bar
Switch Weapon F
Center Camera - C
Open/Close Map - Tab
Modify Action - Shift
Toggle Cursor - E
Put Away Weapon - X
Open/Close Interface - Z

I think what Aroenai means is "Save your fingers and utilize the EXIT option and close the game (save yourself the pain)."

That's how I read it anyway. Having played MoE... which, like it's abbreviation, is about as "dumb" as one of the Three Stooges...

The Dutch word "moe" means tired.
