Larry 1: "GET BRICK" before toilet door gives funny response

Hello,
Recently I needed to kill some time in a hotel and thought a play-through of the original Leisure Suit Larry 1 (AGI version) would be an entertaining way to do this. It sure was, could still finish this game without consulting a walkthru (unfortunately I got stuck on LSL2 because I forgot to take the bag in the airplane, but that's another story ).
I forgot how funny the game can respond to commands, so I tried a lot of things that I knew wouldn't work out for the game. I just wanted to see how the game would respond.
I accidentally noticed LSL 1 gives a rather funny response when typing "GET BRICK" before the toilet door (not when inside the toilet, but on the screen with the drunk man on the floor).
Usually the game responds with the also funny line "You spend hours carefully examining every brick. You find nothing".
When standing right before the door, however, it responds with "Caught ya! Now open the door, then get your nose out of that manual and start playing this game the right way!"
I just wondered, what's the background of this? I assume the original manual suggest the "TAKE BRICK" command? I don't have my CD collection manual handy.
Regards,
Mr. Dijon (Maintainer of ColonelsBequest.net, but again, that's another story )
