Can't Install Gabriel Knight 3 on Win XP

When I click on the setup.exe on CD 1 nothing happens. And I've gotten this game to work on my other PCs so I'm sure it's an issue with this PC. I can get the autoplay interface to run from the CD. But when it does the Play and Install buttons are inactive. I can only click on Web and Exit. Shouldn't the install button only be inactive when the game is already installed? And I checked regedit so I know it's not.

I don't think GK3 makes any reg entries. Just make sure it's not somehow installed already (or anything remotely related to it) in the generic file location it goes to...

GK does make a couple of registry entries, but not until it is installed. Just open the CD in Explorer and run SETUP.EXE.

I tried running setup.exe from both My Computer and Windows Explorer. No dice. I also mounted a CD Image of the CD on Dameon Tools and tried installing from a virtual drive but that didn't work either. I double checked and can find no trace of Gabriel Knight 3 already being installed on the computer. I've also tried every single Windows compatibility setting. So I'm back to square one.

Well I went to bed last night. And when I woke up today and looked at the computer lo and behold setup.exe was on my screen. It sure took it's sweet time loading.
