So I'm playing SQ4 for the first time, thanks to the wonders of ScummVM.

Unfortunately, I've got up to the part where I'm at the shopping mall and I have to 'swim' across that darned zero-gravity skating rink, with those silly cops shooting at me. I make it across the first half (the one that says "RINK") just fine, but when I get to the second half (the one that says "SKATING"), the cop always shoots me on his third try.

I've noticed that this often happens when Roger gets to the "K" of "SKATING". Not sure if this is important or not.

Is there any way to get past these cops? I know that I have to do this, but is there any easier way?

EDIT: Wait - yay! *waves a little flag* By turning up the speed, and swimming all the way up to the roof and back down again, and also by being a little lucky, I finally evaded those darn cops! (After trying 15 times).

That is probably one of the most difficult parts of the game.

There's some tricky things in SQ1... and don't forget the final!

The final of what? The final of SQ1, or SQ4?

I tried going on with SQ4 last night, but gave up when I reached the maze. I know where I'm supposed to go, but those... darned... robots!

So I started playing SQ5 instead, and am having a good time... and now I've reached the part where the fembot is after me for, erm, mail fraud? Wish me luck...

That maze does take a lot of saving and loading, but you're really close to the end of the game, there. Personally, I'd feel very unsatisfied about giving up at that point (though, given how annoying those robots are, that reaction is understandable).

One of the best solutions to the maze I found...
involved going back into the hallway for a few seconds so the robot passes you and you can move straight to your target.

Yes, I tried that - but...
...as soon as I slip out of the little corridor, the robot turns around and shoots me. Very annoying!

Wait longer, 15 seconds, he'll just pass in front of you.
