Not a serious piece at all...

...so I hope it makes you laugh!
On another board, people were discussing the Royal wedding. One of the people told me that he was disappointed that I didn't write any poetry for the wedding. (Not sure why).
At any rate, I took that as a challenge, and wrote some VERY quick-and-rough humourous poetry. Hope it makes you laugh.
Well, let's see....... *flexes fingers* What form of poem shall we try? Well, how about an unedited, 0th-draft, rough-as-not-diamond not-quite-sonnet?
Prince Harry's Not-Quite-Sonnet
On this morn, our wedding day,
as pale dawn begins to rise,
this is what I have to say:
Listen, wifey, and be wise.
Being married to a Prince
(though romantic and what-not)
is enough to make you wince -
paparazzi, all that rot.
'Tis hard work, and raising kids,
trav'llin' all around the globe;
hope the children won't get SIDS,
stay away from xenophobes.
Still, there is one consolation:
at day's end, I'll pour libation,
toast the princess of the nation -
banish worry and frustration!
Or, how about a limerick? Or a few quick 5-7-5 haikus?
Royal Marriage Limerick
There once was a fellow named Harry,
and Meghan he wanted to marry.
Well, their day came and went;
How their evening was spent?
I won't say - but they're happy as Larry.
Royal Marriage Haiku
Now Liz will have great-
grandkids, while Charles frets and says:
"Aw, muuuum! When's my turn?!?"
British Papers Haiku
Nobody expects
the Spanish Inquisition!
*snaps pic* Whatta scoop!
Bored Public Haiku
What's on telly, luv?
Nuffink, ya big oaf! Jus'
old repeats of Eastenders!
One More Haiku (just for fun)
I must have too much
time on my hands; otherwise,
I would not write these.
Hope you enjoyed these.
