Rudy wrote: Greetings!

Today the Sierra Chest celebrates its 10th anniversary and for this occasion I created a little show with lots and lots of guests from Sierra and Dynamix, as well as Sierra fans and creators of other fan sites.

A big thank you for the guests on the show! I won't tag them yet, cause that would ruin the surprise for the viewers :).

Hope you like it .

Rudy

PS: Yes, I know it's a little earlier than announced, but why wait

Well, I mean, how can anyone follow me? :D

Seriously, I should have been last. Or first. Just get me out of the way and get on with the important people everyone wants to see. lol But I was honoured that Rudy asked me to participate.

Great video - it was nice to see all sorts of people from both the immediate Sierra family (former employees) and the extended one (fans, next generation of devs, etc.).

A wonderful show. Thanks Rudy and everyone! :)

Jan Rabson is male? *shocked shrug* And all these years, I thought that Jan was a female name (because in Australia, it is - short for "Janice"). I saw "Jan Rabson" in the LSL7 credits and I thought "a woman voices Leisure Suit Larry?" *shrug*

I remember Mark Seibert. What a legend he is. :)

Good to see you there, Rudy, Tawmis and MusicallyInspired! :D I wish I knew how to play an instrument, other than my own voice. (Feel free to check it out on https://vimeo.com/geegee). <lame plug> ;)

Hey, it's Al, and he loves big chests - like the Sierra chest!

Oh my... Robert Holmes, composer for Gabriel Knight, and Dean Erikson lead actor for GK2! :D

And look - it's Ken (still rockin' that famous mo') and Roberta! ;)

Congratulations Rudy on ten years of SierraChest!

Even Al Lowe used his CyberJoke 3000 to advertise it:
Ten years ago today Rudy Marchant started The Sierra Chest, a website that celebrates everything Sierra, and he's just released a new video from many Sierra designers, artists, programmers, and even Ken & Roberta Williams. Watch it here:

And while you're there, browse around the rest of The Chest:

So great to see all those people! The GK3 piano version brought chills to my spine, so beautiful! Ron Spears's artwork is amazing! And Jan's voice in real life! (Rath, Jan is the Dutch equivalent of John and was the most common first name for the longest time.)
And wonderful to see you in the flesh, Brandon and Rudy!

I'm not out of awe but I'm running out of superlatives... Pure win, Rudy! Thank you so much!

Thanks, folks. I'm really happy with how it panned out, the guests on the show, and the feedback was fantastic.

So when I did my video for Rudy... I did three takes.

When Rudy asked me to do this, I thought, "Man, I probably only got 2 minutes in me. I hope it's enough."

That first take turned out to be 21 minutes long.

That was going to be too much for Rudy to edit and splice to make work.

So I redid it, promised to keep it short.

Well.

I got it shorter.

The second take was 14 minutes.

I promised I could get it beneath 5 minutes.

Did another take.

A little over 7 minutes.

Rudy said that was fine and he'd splice out what he didn't want to need.

I told him I'd release the full (7 minute version, because no one wants to hear me ramble for 7 minutes, really - let alone 14 or 21 minutes).

But I wanted to wait a week after SierraChest's 10th Anniversary video was out for a week.

So that said, here's the full 7 minute version:

I've been making music videos (well, taking the MP3s of various Sierra games) and uploading them to my "Let's Play Sierra Games" channel - because I've been neglecting the channel because life has been... Well, I won't go into it. But I have been scheduling these to publish at Midnight (3 of them so far, 2 have published) - and in there, I noticed one of the first versions of my video for Rudy, which is by far inferior (because it was my first one - funny, as the video I did got shorter, I did more with the things appearing in the background).

So if you wanna see the first version I gave Rudy and hear me ramble for 24 minutes, here you go...
