So they're releasing a new set for 2019 (I remember collecting these in the 80's)... entitled "We Hate The 90's"
https://www.beckett.com/news/2019-garba ... -hate-90s/
What caught my attention was Rob Liefeld had posted one where they spoofed one of his comic book characters from the days of Image Comics (well, really any of them, because back then they all look pretty close with the abundance of pouches). (Here it is on
ebay).
The aforementioned link names the following as comic book related:
1a Powdered-Toast STAN
1b Wrestled REN
2a DOUG Rat
2b Chomped CHUCKY
3a Wranglin’ ROCKY
3b HUGH Heifer
4a NICK Tick
4b Spray RAY
5a TAYLOR Moon
5b SALLY Sailor
6a Butt NED
6b Judged MIKE
7a M.T. VEE
7b Oddity-TY
8a Space CHASE
8b Ghostly GARY
9a Spawned SHAWN
9b Tied-Up TODD
10a Extreme-LEE
10b Nineties Com-MICK
That alone would be pretty cool... But one of the normal ones was this...
Jules, care to comment?

WHAT?!?!
They started as a parody of the VERY popular "Cabbage Patch Dolls" (tell me you've heard of those? Actual dolls that became INSANELY popular back in the 80's - sort of like the whole Beanie Baby trend thing quite a few years ago!) and...
You know what - this is easier:

EDIT: Interesting the Wiki had some info I didn't know - In Australia they were known as: The Garbage Gang

I remember them from when I was a kid. They used to be everywhere. I never liked them. I wasn't a fan of gross-out stuff.

It's funny - because back then I was. I also used to be obsessed with Ren & Stimpy, which had a bunch of that animated gross/fart joke kind of humor. I own them all on DVD and don't care to watch them anymore. I mean, other than the "Space Madness" (and only because it has a memory thing for me, that we used to quote Ren when he says, "I know what you want... you want my ice-cream bar!") These days, I just don't like that stuff.
Getting old and all.

Sorry, still doesn't ring a bell.
But that shouldn't surprise you - I haven't been in Israel for nearly 30 years!

Oh man!!! What a blast from the past!
Juicy Jules! Is that real or did you photoshop it? My mammy always called me Juicy as a kid so yeah it's true haha.
And I loooove Ren & Stimpy! That show was so twisted and weird, it was perfect for all us not-so-popular kids to make us feel not so weird haha.

It's real. It's a part of the latest cards released.

I remember Ren & Stimpy's "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song.
However, speaking of the 90s and speaking of comics, my tastes ran much more to "Pinky and the Brain", "Daria", and "Animaniacs".
Are you pondering what I'm pondering? (That page hadn't been updated since 1999 so it might look a bit screwy!)
