Zane Wagner recreated Shadows of Ysberius - even made it multiplayer - and you can play it - NOW!

Here's the FB post about it:

Interesting, but I would just as soon have the author of INN Revival release his source so we could have all of INN back.

True enough, but it's impressive work to recreate Shadows of Ysberius from scratch and make it multiplayer.

What is the Shadow of Yserbius?
I don't think I know it.
*looks it up* Aha ... released in 1991. Oh, well, no wonder I don't know it - I was only 15 at the time. I was lucky to have a PC, never mind access to the internet.
(And you try and tell the kids of today that. And they won't believe you!)
So what is SoY, from people who played it?

Very old school... MMO, in a way. You'd make a very basic character - and "group" with a leader who controls the party as they go into the dungeons/caverns.

The creator updated Facebook saying:
Hey Friends! The fan remake of Yserbius has been out for one week. Here’s a quick update:
30 people have played a total of 170 hours.
One player has hit level 21!
In terms of quests, players have found the King’s Ring and are working on the Rune Room.
I’ve fixed 50(!) bugs and there hasn't been a server crash in days.
This week I’ll continue focusing on stabilization. When I’m out of bugs to fix, I’ll be adding quality of life features like keyboard shortcuts and health/mana bars. If you have any feature requests, please let me know!
