Mortal Kombat 11
I totally thought I had a thread for this on here, but can't find it for the life of me...
So...
For those interested...
- Jade Reveal
- Kabal Reveal
- Geras Reveal
- Sonya Blade Reveal (Plus Rhonda Rousey) <3
- Johnny Cage Reveal
- Cassie Cage Reveal
- Kotal Khan Reveal
- Noob Siabot Reveal
- Kollector Reveal
- Cetrion Reveal
So here's what we're looking at:
So it looks like 5 more characters to reveal... both Kollector and Cetrion are new to the Mortal Kombat franchise. Any speculation on the 5 who remain unrevealed? New characters? Existing characters?

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
For some of my guesses for the missing characters ...
- Kitana
- Meleena
- Reptile
- Cyrax or Sektor
- Rain
And maybe if one or more of my guesses is wrong - because we have an undead Kung Lao ... bring back Kung Jin, who is his younger cousin.
See: List of Mortal Kombat Characters
Edit: Shao Kahn is available if you pre-order (I am not sure if he takes up one of the empty slots)

I haven't even played MKX yet. Really enjoyed MK9 though. This one is shaping up to be pretty good from the looks of things. I think I'll get it on Switch!

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
It looks similar (with better graphics, if that's possible) - than MKX. I had finished the story mode on MKX not too long ago, after hearing MK11 was coming out.MusicallyInspired wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 9:47 am I haven't even played MKX yet. Really enjoyed MK9 though. They show a lot more characters, but it's not for sure if they're story characters or playable.

So they added:
https://www.mortalkombat.com/roster/jacqui-briggs - Makes sense, as she was one of the main characters in MKX.
- Kitana - https://www.mortalkombat.com/roster/kitana - Which I was not surprised with. So far, no Mileena, however. Here is her reveal video.
- Frost - https://www.mortalkombat.com/roster/frost - Which was a bit of a surprise... since we already have Sub Zero.

Give him another two arms and make him non-glowing, and he could be Goro.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
So... I can confirm Sektor and Cyrax are in the game as story elements, but not as playable characters (or if they are, I've not unlocked them yet). But the character select screen doesn't show any additional slots where they might appear.
And on that last screen, I know who it is now - and it's pretty epic. I will not say any spoilers.
Last night, as soon as I got home, I threw it into my XBOX One and played till about 11pm - when I suddenly got an Achievement for being 50% through the story.
I cranked my neck and decided, "Let's finish this." Ended up being up till 2am and beat the story mode!
It's SO FREAKING GOOD.
The story is excellent - the cut scenes (for story) between the fights range from 2 to 5 minutes long (sometimes a little longer). They really put effort into telling a story this time.
It's not a ground breaking story that would win awards (and it's a... themed story, you've probably read a thousand times) - but they did great stuff with the dynamics between the characters.
If you're a Mortal Kombat fan, I'd highly recommend it.
Now to do the extra stuff to unlock things from the Krypt.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
Monkey Island, I assume?
So I finished the Main Story Mode. Now I am going through unlocking individual character stories - and using the short fighting tower (there's like a 5 fight, 10 fight, 15 fight and 20 fight version of the tower) - no matter which tower you pick you get the same character story unlock. I do not want to do more than I have to, for like 20 characters. 20 x 5 is already at least 100 fights to get each character's story.

That's Monkey Kombat, in Monkey Island 4.
Hold on - MK characters have stories?! I thought they were just a bunch of guys punching and kicking each other.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
Heck yeah. MK9 had one of the best fighting game stories I've ever seen. I assume MKX and MK11 followed suit.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
As MI said... Since like MKVII or VIII... they started doing a "Story Mode."
It's a single story for the entire game. When you do this mode - you don't pick your characters (unless there's more than 1 on the mission). The story determines who you will be playing.
And then there's character story - where, you pick who you want - and then beat the game with them - and you unlock how their story might have gone (which is always different than story mode).
Does that make sense?

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
OK, that makes sense. I didn't play Mortal Kombat any further than the first one - it just didn't grab me. I beat the game with Rayden and Scorpion. I always thought that the Goro fight was more difficult than the ultimate boss fight, by the way.
Speaking of fighting games, the last one I played was (I think) Street Fighter II. Never played any others beyond that - it was hilariously cartoonish, so I thought - OK. It's not great or anything, but hey! Bright colours and ridiculously over-the-top. I figured I got my nickel's worth.
(That, of course, was back in the day when arcades still had - y'know - arcade games. These days, of course, they don't exist - and too bad about that, too. When boys hit the mid-elementary-school age, they were great places to hang out).

Re: Mortal Kombat 11
I never liked the first game. Too few characters, shoddy graphics, bad sound quality. Second one was very well polished though and my favourite with MK9 following close behind.
