I wrote this one back in January 2005, when I was doing the final year of my network engineering degree. One of my fellow students cahllenged me to write a song about Windows (this was way back in the time of Windows XP Pro and Windows Server 2003). Anywhere, here it is, entitled...

Computer Song
(parody of "My Favourite Things", written June 2005)

Windows Explorer and My Network Places;
Uninstall Windows, watch Microsoft's faces.
Himem.sys, multi-threading (no strings!)
These are some of my computery things!

System board, CMOS chip, chip set and BIOS;
Will XP crash? I don't think that I'll try-os!
Switches and jumpers and oh, token rings -
These are some of my computery things!

If some disks crash,
If lost clusters,
If Blue Screen of Death,
I'll think hard about my computery things
And then I will save my breath!

DriveSpace, partitions and VCACHE and SmartDrive;
Buffers and sectors and bytes, bits and hard drive;
Logic bombs, viruses, Trojan horse, worm
Won't mean a thing to a gray pachyderm!

FORMAT and LABEL and SCANREG and FDISK,
DISKCOPY, XCOPY, DELTREE and SCANDISK,
DMA, IRQ, I/O address -
Know what they mean and I'm sure you'll impress!
