Hmm. Some people read far too much into it, though. There's a difference between "suggestive" or "risque" and obscene -- and I doubt any kids will be pausing the movie (at home, naturally) to ask "Daddy, what's that?"

I wonder how people learned about these things in the first place. Back in the mid-to-late 80s, when VCRs started becoming commonplace ... did people rent the video just for one reason -- to try and catch that one-or-two-frames of naughtiness?

I can just imagine. "Oh dear lord! How unimaginably filthy! We've never seen such things in all our born days!" Or, as Maud Flanders would put it ... "Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children!"

I don't think the kids would be that fussed, to be honest ... it's not as if kids had never seen a pair of "unclad buttocks" before. Or even a "male member".

Funny link - the Treasure Island one is well-known among Curry fans - it being one of Tim's favourite roles. Allegedly he turned down Dr Who to do Muppets Treasure Island.

In one of the bonus features on the DVD (couldn't find it on YT ) Tim jokingly tells about his relationship with Miss Piggy and how it ended when he called her a "silly sausage."

And there's this golden quote from the Canada talk event:

I'm not surprised that pissed him off. Double-standards and all. But I suppose they didn't want complaints from some parents. "How dare you use the word 'pork' in a children's movie! You've traumatised my little Timmy by exposing him to pig-related products!"

One that wasn't on the list that should've been there is that there actually were 2 frames in The Rescuers that had a picture of a topless woman. This went by most people until the VHS release. The VHSs were recalled and a re-release had the scenes blocked out.

... he's a silly character, but he certainly doesn't speak Swedish. Germans think he's from Denmark, IIRC -- and Swedish people think he sounds Norwegian. And they'd like to you please stop asking.

Well, Gonzo has been called a "whatever" (most Muppet movies, such as The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper), a "weirdo" (Muppet Babies, a cartoon from the 1980s), and an alien (Muppets from Space). Most likely he's just a pervert who has a thing for chickens, which is pretty damn weird, but probably not unheard of on the Internet.

Animal is... well, an animal or something. I've always heard he was sort of based on Keith Moon of The Who.

As for Scooter, I have no idea. Maybe he's a slug or a leech or something...

Anyway, in gooder (sorry) news ... for some reason, who knows why, my adapter finally connected me to my modem's 5G network, which means that now I'm getting between 35-40 Mbps (instead of the 6-7 I was getting before). Yay!

At least, that's what I got last night. Let's try again (it's now 8:47am here) ... oh, my! Now I'm getting 52 Mbps. Wow!

Not sure what happened. My little slice of the 5G network showed up last night and I tried connecting ... it asked me for a password, then wouldn't connect me. So I power-cycled my modem, restarted my computer, and -- this time it connected. How, or why, I don't know. Magic? I doubt it, but ... who knows. For all I know, it could be My Little Pony and the Power of Friendship.
