Game: "Let's NOT write a Sierra related kickstarter!"

Post by Tawmis »

Inspired by Rath's post - the idea is to come up with "rejected" Sierra ideas... this can be based off existing games, or even a new proposed game - and it should be fun! :)

See Rath's post for examples!

King's Quest XXIII: Witch Way Do I Go, Graham? Cedric loses his monocle and can't see to follow Graham. It turns out that the monocle was stolen by an eeeeeeeeeeevil witch (mwa ha ha!!!), and it's up to a very old Graham, balding and leaning on his stick, to defeat the witch and return Cedric's monocle. (Huzzah!) :D

The title is a reference to this. :)

Laura Bow in The Cask of Amon Tillado - During a visit to the ruins of an old monastery while conducting research on a legendary hero of yesteryear, Laura takes a sip from an old cask and turns into a slug. She must now slowly drag her way across the valley in search of the infamous Baba Yaga, who is her only hope of a cure.

Police Quest: Gold Rush. A new drug has hit the stress, and it glitters like gold! Everyone's taking it for the rush! For the... GOLD RUSH!
Obviously rejected because it references the title of another Sierra game!

Space Quest: The Last Janitor. In this one, Roger discovers he's loosely connected to Beatrice through other means - and he randomly kills Sludge Vohaul - again - and the fans get so pissed, that they don't get The Adventures of Roger Wilco, Jr. when it comes out.
I probably don't have to explain this one?

Gabriel Knight IV: The Schattenjaeger Show! Gabe Goes To Broadway. You play an unscrupulous Broadway producer, whose job is to take Gabriel's life story and turn into a razzle-dazzle extravaganza of a Broadway show, complete with dancing elephants, sword-swallowers, and fire-jugglers. When the show finally settles down, the actor playing Gabriel sings a love duet with the actress playing Grace, and it ends up with the hero getting the girl. It's all very beautiful, very romantic, and very - yawn - booooooooooooring...! :P

Police Quest (SWAT Edition) VII: Let's Scarf Donuts and Shoot Up Transients! That's right - Police Quest has now officially become the police version of Grand Theft Auto. Oy vey...! :(

EcoQuest III: Cold As Ice. In this game, you control a dolphin who teaches you echo location. The echo location helps navigate a submarine being controlled by a secret agent.

King's Quest: The Cat In The Hat. Manahanananana returns! He's been freed from the cat cookie mixture - and now has begun impersonating King Graham, sending them each on various missions - all to collect items for his ultimate revenge!

Gabriel Knight Is... Dead To Rights! Gabriel goes to the small town of Lytton, following up on a strange voodoo case that's popped up there. He teams up with Sonny Bonds, and they become the good cop/bad cop duo. Very 80's action movie style. Lethal Weapon style; but with that New O'leans accent.

King's Quest: It's Reigning Men: Lacking an heir to the throne of Daventry (thanks to Alexander and Rosella running off to other kingdoms) and no longer able to bear children, Graham and Valanice must choose a suitable candidate for successor. After witnessing every knight in the realm put on an embarrassing display of machismo, they realize their search must extend past Daventry to the lands beyond, so off they sail to find an appropriate applicant for Daventry's future king. Things hit a snag (or do they?) when their ship crashes into the rocks surrounding the legendary "Isle of Man" - a land long rumored to be only myth, whose residents are nothing but noble, pure-hearted and physically-fit men looking to fulfill prophetical destinies. With such an embarrassment of riches at their disposal, Graham and Valanice put them to the test by initiating "Daventry's Next Top Ruler," an elaborate competition broadcast all across the world via magic mirror, with the champion ascending to the throne.

Crazy Nick's Software Picks: Navigation with Johnny Westland: Relive your "favorite" moment with Johnny Westland by replaying the submarine section over and over and over! Also includes the popular dice game.

Torin's Secret Passage: Our previously good-hearted Torin finds himself drawn into the seedy underbelly of Tenebrus' crime-life, and must now dodge the authorities by constantly moving between realms with the phenocrysts. Turned evil by his friend's influence, Boogle now takes on monstrous, indescribable shapes capable of inflicting grievously cartoonish injuries.

The Sequel Police are at it again. This time, they've discovered interdimensional travel. Roger Wilco pursues them as they travel from world to world, kidnapping key individuals from each world: King Graham, Sonny Bonds, some schmuck in a leisure suit. But with Vohaul apparently gone, who could be behind this nefarious scheme? It is none other than... Cedric! While travelling through Daventry, he discovers a portal to another world where he learns of their disdain for him. Driven mad, he abducts key individuals from other worlds so that he may gain the power to shape them in his own image. Every world will have a Cedric! Sonny Bonds' partner, Larry's wingman, a Manhunter... somehow. Can you stop Cedric before he ruins each and every universe? Find out in...

...some schmuck in a leisure suit...

Conquest of the Longbow II: Robin Hood Shoots Cans Off People's Heads. Exactly what it says on the tin. Fun for the whole family. (For about 30 seconds).

Quest for Glory XLII: The Hero Searches For the Meaning of Life. With Special Guest: Arthur Dent. Our beloved hero journeys across space and time, with many a "mumble, grumble, no control over my fate or pants." On cue, his braces snap open and his pants fall down for no reason other than "The Rule Of Funny".

King's Quest XCXI: Monarchy See, Monarchy Do: When Roberta Williams runs out of fairy tales and folklore for ideas, she turns to modern fiction and current news stories for inspiration. Join Prince Graham the 3rd on his quest to the airport after his family gets arrested for violating sanctions against Westeros. Outsmart sparkly vampires in the Hunger Games, stop Equestria from exiting the Daventry Union, and take on the royal family's greatest foe yet: CLIMATE CHANGE! It's fun for the whole family!

Space Quest 2.9: Roger on Ice!: It's Space Quest as you've never seen it before! Join Roger Wilco after his Labion adventure as he lies frozen in an escape pod for possibly hundreds of years. Gaze at the stars as they go by! Look at the flickering instruments on the dashboard! Leave the game up as a screensaver! We don't care! Just as long as you make the most of it!

Gabriel Knight 0: How I Got a Book Shop: It's Gabriel Knight's greatest adventure yet in this prequel that explores the time-consuming process it takes for an inspiring writer to get a bank loan and open his own book shop. Thrill at this completely non-supernatural adventure as Gabriel moves in, places orders, and interviews prospective hires. Will his shop be successful? How will he find time to write his book? Will he ever find an employee who doesn't mind missing a few paychecks? The answers to these mysteries await!

Um, I thought sparkly vampires were from "Twilight", not "The Hunger Games"?

Leisure Suit Larry L: Just When You Thought Larry FINALLY Gave Up... Larry, now in a nursing home, sits around and recounts his former exploits. He then starts chasing - very slowly - some attractive grannies.

Leisure Quest for Glorious Space Police: Just Who Is The Hero Here Anyway? ALL the Sierra quest game heroes and heroines fight like cats in a sack over what the next game is going to be. All, that is, except Gabriel Knight, who sits back with some popcorn and watches the fun.

Hoyle Classic Strip Poker: Watch your favorite Sierra characters reveal their private pixels as you beat them at everyone's favorite naughty party game - strip poker! Includes censored and uncensored mode. Featuring King Graham, Larry, Fifi, Laura, Roger, Rosella, Alexander, Yvette, Wolf Heimlich (finally see his infamous scars!) and Jollo :?

Process Server Quest: Take on the role of meager process server Wilfred Glick, and travel around scenic Dubuque serving legal documents on hapless saps, filing court papers and retrieving documents from various locations downtown. Painstaking accuracy makes this the most realistic (and boring) game of all time.

Space Quest LXI: In Space, No One Can Taste Ice Cream: Poor Roger Wilco accidentally lets his ice cream cone drift off into space. Help him retrieve it by floating around through barren starscapes in hot pursuit of his frozen treat. 61 installments in, plot ideas are running thin.
