KQ7 not starting for me either

I wanted to second YeOldeSierraFan's post concerning problems launching King's Quest VII after applying the patch. It won't run for me either, and I'd like to provide a bit more information on the problem in hopes that someone can help me/us out.

After installing the patch, all the other games in the '06 collection work as intended on my brand-spanking-new HP Core i7 with Vista 64, so I know the games--and the patch--installed to the right directory. Browsing to the KQ7 folder reveals that the SIERRA.EXE file is nowhere to be seen, so therein lies the problem. Somehow, the patch did not supply the executable to run KQ7 in DOS mode.

Perhaps someone could upload the SIERRA.EXE file somewhere for those of us who are dealing with this problem?

Luke

The patch is a binary level patch. It does not pack the files as such. The files need to be created. There may be issues with the patcher on Vista, due to limited write access. Try installing the games someplace other than the Program Files folder, say C:\Sierra\King's Quest Collection, then apply the patch.
