Yes, this is why I turned the speed down while driving. It's impossible to drive on a fast speed.

For driving on the interstate, I used the keypad. PgUp (or 9 on the keypad) would drive diagonally east. End (or 1) would drive diagonally west. That made things much easier. :)

Using the same thing on stairs made them a little easier, too. :)

Maybe I've just played PQ1 so many times, that I've just gotten used to it. The stairs were always much more difficult for me. When you get near the top, spatial relationships get all strange when you try to force a 3D stair that curves onto a 2D picture.

The very first time I played PQ1, I tried getting on the interstate which was very frustrating. I kept crashing. Eventually I got on and used the keypad to drive. The annoying thing was that there is no point to going onto the highway and a few minutes later, I get the first radio call.

I think PQ - I didn't replay too often because I'd need to dig out the map - and/or remember procedures to do things - so I had to dig those out.
Rather than just... load KQ... LSL... GK... and for the most part, just go.

And yeah, when I played - I never went on the highway/freeway - and couldn't recall if somethings required being on there.

But clearly not, since I was able to beat the game. Surprised stopping someone speeding didn't appear there.

But maybe because that's more Highway Patrol duty.

And yet, you only encounter the traffic stops in PQ3 on the highway. So of course the first time I played, I left the highway after dealing with Morales so I didn't encounter them.

IIRC, something happens on the freeway in PQ1 VGA. Doesn't there? *shrug* It's been years since I played it.

PQ3 has a freeway encounter or two. PQ1VGA, being a remake of PQ1, doesn't have any freeway incidents. I think they're all on the regular roads to my recollection. It's just a fast way to get across town.

I'm not sure if anything is different with the remake. I've played PQ1AGI way more times than VGA. Never actually went on the highway.
