Lost in Time question

I was wondering, is there a difference between the original Lost in Time (with the main protagonist on the cover) and Lost in Time part 1 & 2 (with the sailing ship on the cover)? According to Mobygames, both are exactly the same, except that the original was released on floppies.
I also noticed on Youtube that the original has apparently no speech. Is that the only difference?
First release:

Sierra Originals release (which i assume is part 1&2, even though it features the woman on the cover):

Edit: should have posted this in the Coktel Vision section. Sorry...

I was assuming that it was the difference between the European and American releases. I have both the floppy and CD versions, both with the protagonist cover. The manual for both was the Jewel case sized one (even though it was far too thick to fit in the jewel case). The manual for the ship case was a larger format. It may be that the ship cover was the original one and that the protagonist cover was released when the CD talkie version was released and subsequent releases of the floppy version were shipped in the protagonist cover.

But the games are otherwise the same, right? No additional gameplay in the "parts 1 & 2" version. It's quite misleading i must say.

As I said, I have only the protagonist cover, floppy and CD. You could ask DrMcCoy on the scummvm.org boards, who is a Coktel Visions expert. He is the one that worked on the Gob engine for ScummVM. He might have some idea.

Coming to the party lately. The first time I saw the "parts 1 & 2" cover I was confused as well. Some research at the time led me to believe the game was released as two separate episodes on diskette in their initial Euro (maybe French only) release. And then collected on CD as the 1&2 release. I spent far too much time trying to find cover artwork for the separate diskette releases, and was never successful, so I don't know that they actually exist. I think I found one ebay listing for a single episode without pics once, but I could have dreamt that.
Woohoo, just tried again and found some pics!

It may be that it was originally released in two parts, but the CD release is a MPC release, not just a compilation of the two parts. The entire non-MPC game was released on floppy as well. Nice find on the box shots of the two separate parts, though.
