I don't think I shared this here....which was awful of me, and I'm not sure how many here already are aware of it but Ryan Slattery, designer of the free QFG-ish Betrayed Alliance Book 1 SCI fangame (made in Sierra's SCI engine with EGA graphics), is Kickstartering Book Two. He asked me to come on board so I will be working on a full MIDI soundtrack for the game which will support PC Speaker, Tandy 3-voice, Creative Music System/Game Blaster, Yamaha FB-01/IBM Music Feature Card, Adlib, Sound Blaster, MT-32, and General MIDI (phew!). Being a true SCI game, it will be playable in DOSBox, ScummVM, or on your old 286 if you so desire. Like Book 1 it will be free to download once it's finished but the Kickstarter funds will go towards development of the game and also a nice physical game manual if you pledge at the appropriate tier.
We've already reached above and beyond the target goal (in less than 24 hours from when the campaign started!) and Ryan wasn't going to do any stretch goals, but a backer suggested upgrades to Book 1 as a possible stretch goal. We both liked the idea and so we went with it. Ryan will be updating the artwork with all he's learned and improved in since initially making it and I'll be redoing all of the music in MIDI (instead of digital MP3) and recomposing it and reworking it to support all the various SCI music devices. The process of upgrading Book 1 won't take place until after Book 2 is complete. We're only ~$350 away at this point from reaching that stretch goal now with 12 days to go so consider pledging a few bucks or share the campaign around wherever you can! But it's been getting phenomenal support though which is super awesome to see.
The pitch video has examples of the music changes and the stretch goal update shows examples of Ryan's replacement art and a music remake demo of what Book 1 will look/sound like.
