Interesting! I had not heard of that either.
Cool site - ended up reading some of the previous articles.
Never knew the SQV cheat for the "Battle Ship" game.

The Colonel’s Bequest are superb as well. He completely breaks down every action required to obtain Super Sleuth, and the programming issues which make it so difficult for most people, and also explains how the “Celie” copyright crack also breaks all randomness in the game.
He really knows his stuff and I can’t wait to see what else he uncovers.

Yep, the old-fashion way was to save the game right after placing the ships (removing the "random element" if you saved prior to the placements), find all of Quirk's ships, then simply re-load the game.
