I’ve never heard this acronym spoken aloud before, only ever seen it in writing. I’ve usually thought of it as “middy”, but one pronunciation guide did say “mi-dee”. How do those in the music and technical field tend to go?

I have never heard it as anything but middy or mi-DEE except from "The Space Quest Historian" who pronounced it as “mee-DEE”.

Like the french midi (noon): mee-DEE.

Perhaps mee-DEE is more common in Europe, but the accepted is mi-DEE

I've always gone with "Middy", myself. *shrug*
