Sad to hear. He was a big influence in PC gaming. Soundblaster was synonymous with PC gaming in the late '80s and '90s.

Yes -- in the late '80s and '90s, Soundblaster was it. If you didn't have it, all you could hear was bleep-bloop.
Much as that would shock some of the young'uns these days, I'm old enough to remember games with no sound at all. Wait, wait ... let me dodge the shouts of disbelief and cries of "Impossible! Shame on you for lying!"
