Every game has something good and something bad about it...
So what would you say is good AND bad about the following...
Gabriel Knight 1 -
Gabriel Knight 1 Remake -
Gabriel Knight 2 -
Gabriel Knight 3 -

Gabriel Knight 1 -
Best: terrific setting, story, and characters; TIM &@*@ING CURRY as Gabriel
Worst: %&@*%&@ zombies eating your heart!!!
Gabriel Knight 1 Remake -
Best: very faithful to original, also some new puzzles; I didn't even mind the new guy as Gabriel
Worst: one new puzzle (at the house of that lady who reads your future), which I really didn't care for
Gabriel Knight 2 -
Best: terrific setting and story, you can play as Gabe or Grace
Worst: FMV (sorry - I just don't like it); werewolf ending, which is confusing
Gabriel Knight 3 -
Best: great setting and story, and that mind-blowing ending
Worst: graphics are incredibly Meh; death scenes and Gabe scream giving me nightmares
; the infamous "cat-hair moustache" puzzle

Yeah, I'd struggle to think of a worse thing for GK1.

Have it - never played it - so I look forward to eventually getting to it for the channel.

For me the worse was easily the "Gabe as Wolf/Close Doors Puzzle" at the end. Definitely the worse part.

It's funny because the 3D graphics in GK3 don't bother me, but the 3D graphics in Mask and QFGV are eye sores to me.

GK1:
Best: Terrific story, TIM CURRY, music, characters, puzzles, artwork...
Worst: ZOMBIES
GK2:
Best: Opera, Von Glower and the acting performances of the other supporting characters.
Worst: Werewolf animations, Gabriel, Grace, puzzles. I even find the story less intriguing than the other two.
GK3:
Best: Story, TIM CURRY, theme song, background art, paintings, amount of content, sneaking into other people's hotel rooms, Sand Worm conversations, flirting, LE SERPENT ROUGE
Worst: Haemorrhoid Cream Window Opener
I should get me the GK1 remake I suppose...

GK1:
GOOD: This goes for the entire series, but I like how well researched everything is. Voodoo in GK1. The mostly-true-but-a-little-fictionalized history of Ludwig II in GK2. GK3 was The Da Vinci Code before The Da Vinci Code.
BAD: I know this is about voodoo and zombies and stuff, but Wolfgang cutting his own heart out broke all suspension of disbelief for me.
I never played the remake.
GK2:
GOOD: Surprisingly good acting for an FMV title.
BAD: The werewolf maze at the end.
GK3:
GOOD: I really liked that puzzle on the computer where you have to map out the coordinates.
BAD: The 3D graphics are dated and making the game 3D doesn't really add anything.

I think the pre-rendered backgrounds in QFG5 look better than what was available for 3D graphics at the time. They have much more detail. Though I do agree that MOE does look worse than GK3.

GK3:
Worst: Haemorrhoid Cream Window Opener
I beg your pardon?
I don't remember that bit. (Maybe I blocked it out of my memory).
Is this real?

Mark Barbolak tries and does pretty well, but he is no TIM CURRY.
It's still a good game, though ... as you can see by the fact that Jane was willing to have her name associated with it.

On day 2 there's a long section where you have to burgle people's rooms and the Abbé's office. Unforunately you can open the window into his office a little bit, because "the wood is all swollen."
Luckily you just pilfered Lady Howard's haemorrhoid cream! You put it on the wood and, hey presto, up the window goes.

Er ... sure. Because that's exactly how haemorrhoid cream works.
Yes, I agree ... that's as bad as the infamous cat-hair-moustache puzzle. Or is it worse? *ponders*
What do you think?

I think it's worse regarding the leap of logic, but at least you don't hurt any animals. It also has less steps.
But somehow I can imagine making a fake moustache out of cat fur and maple syrup. But wood and haemorrhoid cream?
(right now part of me wants to see if it works
)

Hmm - also, you could definitely get cat hair without hurting the cat. If it's a longhair, it would shed hair all the time. (I've had several longhair cats, and I was forever cleaning hair after them).
All Gabriel needed was a brush ... just run the brush alongside the cat and voila! Cat hair!
