I'm at the back of the fort with a view to the river. I'm supposed to walk 10 miles away from the fort to pan for gold. But each time i try to approach the river, the game jumps to an area map and i can't get to the river, into the water. It also does not show the distance i'm away from the fort. Any advice?

Edit: Nevermind... It just figured i can walk across the edge of the map.

And watch out for fellow gold-diggers!
